- Do not use pestles other than wooden ones. Using non-wooden pestles may cause the ridges to chip or break.
- After use, rinse with water and store only after it is completely dry.
- If dirt gets stuck in the ridges, wash with a scrubbing brush. Do not use metal scouring pads, abrasive sponges, or cleansers that may damage the bowl.
- For black suribachi, when grinding meat or fish, we recommend soaking the suribachi in water for about 10 minutes before use. This will make it harder for food odors to permeate the bowl.

Daisuke Tomimoto × Yamase Seito MortarA carefully crafted mortar that combines robust functionality as a tool with aesthetic beauty as a vessel.
It not only supports your cooking but also beautifully enhances the entire dining table.
This is also a new form of tool that caters to those who wish to use authentic materials and value a hands-on approach.
This mortar is a collaborative creation between ceramic artist Daisuke Tomimoto and Yamase Seito, a kiln specializing in mortars.
It is a meticulously crafted item that achieves both functionality and beauty of appearance.

Available in two colors: black and blue-gray.
Black features an attractive rough, matte texture, adding a calm presence to the dining table.
Blue-gray, on the other hand, is characterized by its glossy surface that gently reflects light.
It is a color that combines dignified elegance with gentleness.
Both quietly complement the appearance of your dishes while radiating a distinct personality.
The rough ceramic surface and the finely carved comb-like ridges (kushime) on the inside firmly grip various ingredients such as sesame seeds, aromatic vegetables, and soft root vegetables, grating them smoothly.
And best of all, you can use it as a serving bowl directly after grating.
Just plating it like a small bowl makes for a beautifully finished dish.
