Nanpu Kogei is a comprehensive bamboo trading company founded in 1979 in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
In Beppu, known as a major center for bamboo craftsmanship, they have consistently handled everything from material procurement to manufacturing and sales in-house.

Their system, which includes forest management and supplying materials to artisans, is a rare initiative not often seen in other production regions.
I realized that this integrated system creates trust in the high quality of their products and brings a sense of security, which is why I decided to welcome Nanpu Kogei products into my home.

Furthermore, Nanpu Kogei's products are not merely bamboo crafts; they also embody "creative bamboo art."
The way they focus on sustainable use of bamboo while skillfully blending modern design with traditional techniques by artisans is particularly impressive and a reason to cherish them for a long time.

Currently, while inheriting the rooted craftsmanship and aesthetic sense of the region, they have relocated their base to Hiji Town, Oita Prefecture, surrounded by lush nature and abundant sea resources, where they continue to produce high-quality bamboo products.

The rustic, somewhat nostalgic appearance that emerges from this local culture and climate is precisely the charm of handcrafted items that have long thrived in that region.
