A Black-Lacquered Mizuya Tansu with Ample StorageThe term "Mizuya" originally refers to a kitchen or a preparation area for the tea ceremony. Furniture used to store dishware and utensils in these spaces came to be known as a "Mizuya Tansu" (water cabinet).
Repainted from its original wood color to a chic black, this cabinet exudes a dignified presence that ties a room together. It is tall and offers plenty of storage capacity. You can rely on it to neatly and effortlessly accommodate the collection of favorite dishware you have gradually gathered over time.
The Rich Character of Aged, Vintage GlassIts greatest charm lies in the old glass used for the doors. While it could have been replaced with new glass, we intentionally kept the original glass exactly as it was.
If you look closely, the surface is not perfectly uniform; you will find small air bubbles here and there, and the view through it appears slightly wavy. When you admire your dishware through this glass, their outlines soften gently, creating an indescribably soothing atmosphere. This is a unique character that can only be found in pieces that have aged over a long period of time, an expression completely absent in newly manufactured glass.
