Glass Artist Taiho Kikuchi
Taiho Kikuchi is a blown glass artist based in Toyama Prefecture.
In mid-October, during the rice harvest season, I visited his newly completed studio and experienced the atmosphere where his works are born.
The space, which was originally a rice storehouse, was softly illuminated by the autumn light, and in the quiet room, the contours of the glass gently emerged.
There, Mr. Kikuchi, alone, faced the glass just removed from the kiln, and with no hesitation, lightly shaped it.
Glass Adorned with Soft LightA distinctive feature of Taiho Kikuchi's glass works
is the pale pink color created by thinly blowing the amber-colored raw material.
When touched by light, its softly colored expression is beautiful, as if it were draped in a veil of soft air.
It can be enjoyed paired with colorful ingredients or as an art piece, creating a wonderful ambiance.
Tea cupA beautiful teacup with a softly flared rim.
It is perfect for tea time, but also pairs well with sake, and is recommended for a quiet drink on New Year's.
Please enjoy it with katakuchi.

【Handling Glassware】
Glassware, with its beautiful expressions that change as light passes through it, has been a beloved material in Japanese life since ancient times.
By handling it with care, you can enjoy it for many years to come.
【First Use】
Before use, please wash the item once with a neutral detergent and a soft sponge.
【Care】
Wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent.
Please note that thin glasses may break if washed with excessive force or twisting.
After washing, wipe dry with a soft cloth and store, ensuring no moisture remains.
【Storage】
Stacking glassware with hard objects like pottery or porcelain may cause scratches.
We recommend storing them with a cloth or other material in between, rather than stacking them directly.
