Tsuchinao Shikki Nested Bowls

Echizen lacquerware is said to have originated 1,500 years ago in the Kawada district of Sabae City. Utilizing the lacquerware production techniques cultivated in this region, Tsuchinao Shikki, founded in 1962, offers these nested bowls.

The natural and rich expressions of lacquer and zelkova wood blend seamlessly with both Japanese and Western dining tables. Their gently rounded shape and warm design make you want to cradle them in your palms. The "White" version, which preserves the beautiful wood grain of zelkova and is coated with white lacquer, has a softness akin to beige.

The familiar colors and smooth curves blend into modern dining tables, making them suitable for any occasion. This size can be used as an alternative to soup or rice bowls, or as a small serving dish like a *tonkatsu* bowl.

The nested bowls, when stacked by size, are a convenient space-saving solution. They can be neatly organized even in limited storage spaces, and are easy to take out.

Inheriting Tradition and Challenging New Craftsmanship

Tsuchinao Shikki is said to handle all processes except base making in-house.

The workshop has first-class skilled craftsmen and traditional craft masters, and specialized artisans handle their respective roles, working in close communication. This process is said to enhance the completeness and stabilize the quality of the products.

They skillfully combine the traditional techniques of veteran staff with the new ideas and design capabilities of younger staff, creating products that meet modern needs.
