Creator / Akari Sato Material / Ceramic clay Region / Toki City, Gifu Prefecture
Pale, gentle softness and a unique presence despite its simple form.
The smooth, earthy texture that feels reassuring to the touch, the delicate and ephemeral brushstrokes that seem to come alive, and the fresh expression created by a unique blend of raku glaze amidst its rustic charm all evoke a sense of endearment. The varying layers of material are also distinctive, giving the piece a sense of depth.
The mug's beautiful form and exotic design caught my eye.
The large handle allows all four fingers to fit comfortably, providing a stable grip when held, making it a frequently used item.
Its height also makes it easy to use as a vase, even for a single flower.

*The white glaze marks on this piece are intentionally applied and are part of the work's characteristics. These are natural patterns that appear during the final firing process and are not defects or faulty products. Please be aware of this in advance.
*The texture of the glaze is that of raku ware, creating a unique translucent quality. This was perfected through trial and error to represent frosted windowpanes and snowy landscapes.
*There may be parts where the slip appears to be peeling, scratched, or chipped, but please enjoy this as part of the work's character.
*As these are handmade items, there may be individual differences in size, shape, and color, and they may differ from the photos.
*When serving hot food, it is recommended to fully soak the item in hot water, and when serving cold food, in cold water, before use.
