Notes

【About the product】
This product is hand-woven one by one using natural akebia vines.
Therefore, please be aware of the following points in advance.

▪️About the product
As it is handcrafted using natural materials, there may be individual differences in size and shape.

Due to the nature of the material, there may be variations in color, uneven coloring, peeling of the vine, small scratches, or cracks, but these do not affect its use.

The color of the product may appear different from the actual product depending on the monitor you are viewing it on and your usage environment.

Handling Precautions

▪️Care and Storage
For daily care, gently brush away dust along the weave with a small broom or brush.

If it gets wet, dry it thoroughly in a well-ventilated, shaded area before storing. Leaving it wet can cause mold and deformation.

Avoid storing in direct sunlight or in hot, humid places. This can cause fading and deterioration.

We hope you will enjoy its unique natural texture and the deepened color and luster that comes with age, and cherish it for many years to come.

Handicraft from Miyamoto Kogei in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture

Miyamoto Kogei is a traditional craft workshop founded in 1949 in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture.
The akebi vines they use are both flexible and strong.
Initially a bright brown, they are said to transform into a deep amber color with use, as they come into contact with the oils from hands and the air.
Resistant to losing their shape and strong against water, this material that can be enjoyed as it ages is truly a "tool to be nurtured."

Furthermore, at Miyamoto Kogei, a single artisan is responsible for the entire process, from sorting the materials to weaving.
This creates an expression and strength unique to handcrafted items that can never be achieved through mass production.

Even with the same weaving technique, each vine's unique characteristics and the weaver's touch make every piece one-of-a-kind.
The more you use it, the more you will appreciate these differences as your own unique flavor.

We felt a special feeling and deep attachment to the certainty of the material, the joy of nurturing it, and the perfection and warmth created by the consistent "single-person work."
