"Nokaji Yamago" Iron Frying Pans: 150 Years of Tradition
"Nokaji Yamago" iron frying pans are crafted by Kondo Seisakusho, a blacksmith preserving tradition in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture.
It is said that in the early days of its establishment, the company made various forged products as a rural blacksmith for local farmers.
The products created from the wisdom and techniques cultivated over many years all combine durability and high quality.
As a "modern rural blacksmith," they carefully produce each item, cherishing traditional techniques while considering tools that fit modern lifestyles.
This is a product we highly recommend for anyone looking for a frying pan that can be cherished for a long time!
The Secret to its Lightness and Ease of Use
The "Nokaji Yamago Frying Pan" is characterized by its surprising lightness, overturning the heavy impression of typical iron frying pans.
When I first held it, I was surprised by its lightness. Designed to be easily handled with one hand even by women, it reduces strain during long cooking sessions and provides a stress-free cooking experience.
This frying pan is carefully made to suit modern lifestyles while valuing traditional blacksmithing techniques.
The Charm of Iron Frying Pans I Experienced Firsthand
When I actually used the "Nokaji Yamago Frying Pan," I was surprised by its excellent heat conductivity. Heat is instantly transferred throughout, cooking food evenly, which really brings out the flavor of the ingredients. It felt like my cooking skills had improved by a notch.
The greatest charm of an iron frying pan is its ability to cook quickly while maintaining high temperatures. Additionally, its moderate depth makes it great not only for stir-frying but also for a bit of deep-frying. It's also very comfortable to use; its lightweight design makes it easy to handle and cooking proceeds smoothly. Even when stir-frying or deep-frying, the depth prevents oil from splashing, which is another great point that allows for safe cooking.
The more you use an iron frying pan, the more seasoned it becomes with oil, making it less likely to stick. With continued use, a well-seasoned iron frying pan becomes easy to clean, eliminating the need to oil it after each use.
Three Frying Pan Sizes to Suit Your Needs
There are three sizes available: 18cm, 22cm, and 26cm.
I often use the 22cm size. For a couple, it's just right – not too big, not too small, perfect for cooking for two. The 18cm is recommended for small dishes, and the 26cm for meals for 3-4 people.

【Care Instructions】
An anti-rust treatment has been applied before use, so no seasoning is required after purchase. Please lightly wash with water before use.
After cooking, transfer the food to another container as soon as possible. Leaving food in the frying pan for a long time can cause a metallic odor and may strip the oxide film on the surface, leading to rust.
When cleaning, use a sponge and wash with hot water without detergent. After washing, place it back on the heat to completely evaporate any moisture, then apply a thin layer of oil with a kitchen paper and store it.
