"Nokaji Yamago" iron frying pans are crafted by Kondo Seisakusho, blacksmiths who uphold tradition in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture.
Initially, they served local farmers as "Nokaji" (field blacksmiths), producing various forged goods.
The products born from years of accumulated wisdom and skill are all highly durable and of excellent quality.
As "modern Nokaji," they value traditional techniques while carefully creating tools that suit contemporary lifestyles.
This item is highly recommended for anyone looking for a frying pan that can be cherished for a long time!
The Secret to Lightness and Ease of Use
"Nokaji Yamago frying pans" are characterized by their surprising lightness, overturning the heavy image of typical iron frying pans.
When I first held one, I was astonished by its lightness. Designed to be easily handled with one hand, even by women, it reduces strain during long cooking sessions, providing a stress-free experience.
These frying pans are carefully crafted to suit modern lifestyles while valuing traditional blacksmithing techniques.
Experiencing the Charm of Iron Frying Pans
After actually using "Nokaji Yamago frying pans," I was amazed by their excellent heat conductivity. Heat is instantly distributed evenly, cooking ingredients without uneven spots and bringing out their full flavor. It felt as if my cooking skills had improved by a whole level.
The greatest appeal of an iron frying pan is its ability to cook quickly while maintaining high temperatures. Additionally, its appropriate depth makes it perfect not only for stir-frying but also for small-scale deep-frying. It's incredibly user-friendly, and its lightweight design makes it easy to handle, ensuring smooth cooking. Even when stir-frying or deep-frying, the depth prevents oil from splashing, which is another great advantage for safe cooking.
The more you use an iron frying pan, the more seasoned it becomes with oil, making it less prone to sticking. With continued use, a well-seasoned iron frying pan becomes easy to maintain, eventually requiring no oil application after use.
Three Frying Pan Sizes to Suit Your Needs
Available in three sizes: 18cm, 22cm, and 26cm.
I often use the 22cm size. For a household of two, it's just right—neither too big nor too small—perfect for cooking for two. The 18cm is recommended for quick meals, and the 26cm for cooking for 3-4 people.

【Care Instructions】
Since the product has been rust-proofed before shipping, no seasoning (oil conditioning) is required upon purchase. First, wash it lightly with water before use.
After cooking, transfer food to another container as soon as possible. Leaving food in the frying pan for extended periods can cause an iron odor and peel off the oxide film on the surface, leading to rust.
When cleaning, use a sponge and wash with hot water, without detergent. After washing, heat the pan again to completely dry out any moisture, then apply a thin layer of oil with a paper towel before storing.
