The Glass Pot by Hinode Kagaku Seisakusho: A Harmony of Beauty and Function

Marrying aesthetic grace with high practicality, this glass pot is meticulously crafted by Hinode Kagaku Seisakusho, a studio nestled in Togane City, Chiba Prefecture.
Each piece is carefully brought to life through the detailed handwork of Mr. Takizawa, a master artisan who originally honed his skills creating glass apparatus for laboratory and medical use.

A subtle, organic fluctuation that a machine could never replicate.
In this glass pot, which carries the gentle warmth of an artisan who has dedicated years to his craft, a quiet sense of absolute reliability resides—one that allows you to use it with peace of mind in your daily life.

The Timeless, Universal Beauty of the Classic "Kettle"

A delightfully rounded, organic form coupled with fluid, sweeping curves.
For nearly 30 years since Mr. Takizawa first began crafting it, the fundamental silhouette—consistently inspired by the traditional Japanese "Yakan" (kettle)—has remained virtually unchanged. Its simple, unadorned presence blends effortlessly into any table setting, possessing a unique charm that brings a sense of quiet calm to your heart just by glimpsing it resting on a cupboard shelf.

The beautifully designed spout pours flawlessly without a single drip, making the entire ritual of brewing tea feel incredibly graceful and comforting.

From a refreshing iced herb tea to a comforting hot black tea, this pot is ideal for both casual daily rituals and formal gatherings. The borosilicate heat-resistant glass is highly resistant to odor and flavor transfer, allowing you to enjoy the rich, true aroma of the tea leaves exactly as intended. Watching the beautiful colors of the tea gently unfurl through the crystal-clear glass is a serene pleasure unique to this exquisite pot.

The Practicality of Direct-Flame Heating

The glass pot by Hinode Kagaku Seisakusho is crafted from heat-resistant borosilicate glass that can be placed directly over an open flame.
With a background rooted in producing scientific laboratory equipment, "durability" is considered just as vital an element as aesthetic beauty. Selecting a glass composition that is exceptionally resistant to cracking, and making meticulous, iterative adjustments to details like the handle specification for enhanced longevity and safety, the studio ultimately arrived at the reliable sturdiness seen today.

However, protection against sudden temperature shifts is essential. Placing the pot on a flame when filled with ice-cold water can cause thermal shock and lead to cracking. To prevent this, always start with water at room temperature and allow it to heat up slowly and gently. When using it over a direct flame, keeping the heat on a low setting ensures you can enjoy its beautiful utility safely for many years to come.

Versatile Sizes for Every Lifestyle: 1L and 2L Glass Pots

The collection is available in two thoughtful capacities: 1 Liter and 2 Liters.
The one I personally cherish and use daily is the 1-liter size. It is the perfect volume for a two-person household and is equally wonderful for a solitary teatime without feeling overly large or cumbersome. Choose the ideal size that beautifully aligns with your lifestyle—whether it is the 1-liter pot for small gatherings and routine daily use, or the 2-liter pot for family moments and hosting guests.

Handling Precautions

Caring for Your Glass Pot:
Do not use with induction cooktops (IH) or automatic dishwashers.

Please allow the glass pot to cool completely before washing. Exposing the pot to sudden temperature changes, such as pouring cold water over it while it is still hot, can cause thermal shock and lead to cracking or fracturing.

When cleaning narrow parts like the spout, using a slender cleaning brush is highly recommended.
Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers, as they may scratch the glass surface.

While this pot is suitable for use over a direct open flame, sudden temperature shifts can cause damage. Please immerse the pot in lukewarm water briefly before placing it on the heat. To prevent cracking, avoid heating over high flames and always use a low to medium setting.
