A Story That Begins With Wrapping
It's been a year since I started living in Kagurazaka.
One by one, I've welcomed my "favorites" and quietly woven them into my life.
Plates and bowls, rice bowls and donburi, and mugs.
The dishes that have gradually increased in my life quietly line the shelves, each adding a small story.
Until now, I've enjoyed their feel and appearance in my own life.
However, one day it suddenly occurred to me, "I want more people to use these wonderful dishes."
I wanted to share the small joys I felt in my daily life with someone. That feeling began to grow.
As I prepare a gift, I am reminded that the time spent choosing an item and the act of wrapping it are part of the giving itself.
If possible, I want to quietly embed a small story or wish not only in the contents but also in the "wrapping." And I hope that the recipient can weave their own unique story from the moment they hold it.
Such a feeling quietly swelled deep within my heart.
The Feelings Embodied in the Gentle Rain Lines
So, I reached out to Kenta, a friend from my school days who now works in design.
A small promise we made to "create something together someday" has now come to fruition in the form of this gift wrapping paper.
What kind of paper, what to draw?
As I exchanged ideas with Kenta many times, a memory came back to me.
It was during the rainy season when I moved to Kagurazaka.
Hydrangeas wet with rain, shining moist cobblestones.
The scenery of Kagurazaka at that time remains vivid in my heart.
After passing through quiet alleyways, I arrived at my current home.
There was a water basin in front of the house, and its beauty immediately captivated me.
The ripples created by the raindrops were so beautiful that I naturally decided to live here without hesitation.
It was as if the rain gently pushed me forward.
This is the origin of my "rain" memory.
I wanted to preserve that beautiful memory forever.
With that in mind, I chose the image of "rain" for the paper that wraps gifts.

A few days later, Kenta showed me the finished design, accompanied by wonderful words.
Raindrops are drops that nourish the earth and nurture life.
Their gentle, repeating rhythm is like the comfortable breathing of nature.
I was captivated by its soft beauty at first sight.
The delicate lines of rain appear to be a perfectly ordered pattern at first glance, but upon closer inspection, brush marks and variations in color seep through, and no two lines are exactly alike.
"May quiet moisture and warmth reach the recipient."
Kenta's wish is scattered all over the paper.
The moment I saw the finished product, I thought, "This is it."
I felt that the gentle rhythm of the rain itself was perfect for my gifts.
Time Connected by a Light Blue Ribbon
And so, the wrapping paper adorned with rain lines took shape.
When I hold it, the soft texture of the paper, along with the rhythm of softly falling rain, seems to be conveyed to my palm.
I chose a pale blue for the ribbon.
It has a transparency that seems to bring a clear breeze, gently embracing the moist rain lines.
The moments spent carefully tying each one, imagining the recipient's happy face, are a quiet and rich time for the giver as well.
It would be fun to change the color or material of this ribbon someday, depending on the season or the gift.
As I think about such things, time slowly passes.

Wrapping Adorned with Rain Lines
This finished wrapping adds a quiet warmth to any gift.
The wrapping paper adorned with rain lines and the pale blue ribbon seem to slowly compose not only the appearance of the gift but also the heart of the person wrapping it.
Tied in the hands of the giver, untied in the hands of the receiver.
At each of these moments, a small story is quietly born.
I would be happy if this wrapping could add a quiet touch of color to your gifts.
