Notes

*The white glaze marks on this piece are intentionally applied and are part of the artwork's unique characteristics. These are natural patterns that appear during the final firing process and are not defects or flaws. Please be aware of this beforehand.
*The texture of the glaze is Raku ware, creating a unique, translucent aesthetic. This was achieved through repeated trial and error to express the look of frosted windowpanes and snowy landscapes.
*Please note that there may be areas that appear to be flaking, scratched, or chipped in the slip, but we ask that you enjoy these as part of the piece's unique character.
As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in size, shape, and color, which may vary from the photos.

Handling Precautions

[How to Use]
Mugs and Cups: These items have been treated with a water-repellent finish, so there is no need for pre-treatment; you can use them as is.
We recommend pre-warming with hot water when serving hot food, and pre-chilling with cold water when serving cold food.
[Care]
You can wash these items with a soft sponge and neutral detergent.
Storing them while still wet can cause mold and odors.
[When Storing]
When storing them in a cupboard for an extended period, please ensure they are thoroughly dry before putting them away.
[When Stains or Odors Occur]
Tea stains and other marks may appear with use. While these will gradually blend into the ware, if odors are a concern, soaking the item in baking soda solution for half a day to a full day, then drying it, may help remove the odor.

Creator / Akari Sato Material / Clay Region / Toki City, Gifu Prefecture

This mug is arguably one of ceramic artist Akari Sato's signature works.

The patterns drawn on the sides are not predetermined designs, but rather emerge from her hands moving freely as she feels comfortable in the moment.
The freely drawn lines and blurred expressions reminiscent of sumi-e ink wash paintings overlap, creating a unique look for each piece.

Despite its simple form, it has a mysteriously captivating presence.
Each time you pick it up, your eyes are drawn to the depicted scenery.

The Raku ware glaze, uniquely blended by Sato, was developed through trial and error, envisioning frosted windowpanes and snowy landscapes.

Perfect for pouring coffee or tea and enjoying a relaxing time.
This is a piece whose expression you'll want to gaze at, whether you're using it or not.
