Glass Artist Daiho Kikuchi

Daiho Kikuchi creates blown glass in Toyama Prefecture.
In mid-October, during the rice harvest season, I visited his newly completed studio and experienced the atmosphere where his works are born.
Autumn light softly streamed into the space, which was originally a rice storehouse, and in the quiet room, the contours of the glass gently emerged.
There, Kikuchi-san, alone, faced the glass freshly taken from the kiln, giving it form with light, unfaltering movements.

Glass Adorned with Soft Light

A characteristic feature of Daiho Kikuchi's glass works is
the pale pink color created by thinly blowing the amber-colored raw material.
The way it softly takes on color when illuminated by light is beautiful, as if it is enveloped in a veil of soft air.
It can be enjoyed in combination with colorful ingredients or as an art piece, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

《 Amano Tsumugu's Soliloquy 》

This vase, with its beautiful rounded, soft form, blends into both Japanese and Western spaces, allowing me to enjoy various types of flowers.
I place a seasonal single bloom at the entrance. For guests, I adorn the dining table with longer branches to add a touch of glamour.
Its moderate size makes it wonderful for enjoying in different scenarios.

Handling Precautions

[Handling Glassware]
Glassware, which changes beautifully with light, has been a familiar material in Japanese life for a long time.
With careful use, it can be enjoyed for many years to come.

[Before First Use]
Before use, please wash once with a neutral detergent and a soft sponge.

[Care]
Please wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent.
Be careful when washing thin glasses, as twisting them forcefully may cause breakage.
After washing, wipe thoroughly with a soft cloth to remove all moisture before storing.

[Storage]
Storing glassware stacked with hard items such as ceramics or porcelain may cause scratches.
We recommend storing them with a cloth or other material in between, rather than stacking them directly.
