SAKUZAN × Amenoiye "clay"
Having previously owned very few deep vessels, we partnered with Sakuzan Kiln to create the "clay" bowl, driven by the desire for "a shape like this." We named it with the hope that many people would experience the charm of the clay material this vessel possesses.

Rich Textures Created by Recycled Clay
The earthy texture remaining on the exterior of "clay" is unique to "recycled clay," which is made by crushing fired pottery into fine pieces and mixing it with new clay. By blending various recycled clays, subtle particles and color variations overlap within the clay, creating a rich and profound texture. No two pieces are exactly alike, making each bowl a unique "landscape of earth" to be enjoyed.
Soft Forms Crafted by Human Hands
After shaping the clay with a mold, artisans individually hand-finish the curves and roundness of the rim. A distinctive feature is the gently inward-curving rim, which appears as a soft, triangular shape when viewed from above. The expression changes with the angle, allowing you to feel the comfortable undulation unique to handmade craftsmanship.
3 Sizes: S, M, L
S is perfect for serving or soup, M for side dishes, and L for main courses.
Easy-to-use White and Black
White has a soft hue from transparent glaze, with a smooth and slick feel. Black uses a deep black glaze, creating a calm, not-too-dark shade, with a slightly rough texture to the touch.
Comfortable in Any Combination
Whether you choose to match colors or mix different sizes, the beauty of "clay" is its ability to naturally harmonize and blend in any combination. It gently integrates into any dining scene, be it Japanese, Western, or Chinese cuisine.
Neatly Stackable for Beautiful Storage
Another pleasing feature is how neatly they stack, like nesting dolls.
They don't take up much space in the kitchen, and their stacked appearance is beautiful.
A Dining Table Filled with the Warmth of Earth
The rustic and gentle expression of "clay" softly envelops the dining scene. It's a vessel that gently embraces both everyday dishes and special meals.
