Glass Artist Daiho Kikuchi

Daiho Kikuchi creates blown glass in Toyama Prefecture.
In mid-October, during the rice harvest season, I visited his newly completed studio and experienced the atmosphere where his works are born.
The former rice granary was softly illuminated by the autumn light, and in the quiet room, the contours of the glass gently emerged.
There, Kikuchi-san, alone, faced the glass freshly taken from the kiln, and with no hesitation, lightly shaped it.

Glass Adorned with Soft Light

A distinctive feature of Daiho Kikuchi's glass works is
the pale pink color created by thinly blowing "amber," an amber-colored material.
The way it gently colors when it catches the light is as beautiful as if it were veiled in soft air.
It can be enjoyed with a variety of colorful foods or as an art piece, adding a wonderful touch to any space.

Drop vase

A shape that extends slenderly upwards from a swell.
The folded rim, with a diameter of about 1 cm, is perfect for a single flower.
The sophisticated form combined with the soft color creates a quiet, dignified presence.
Simply arranging a flower naturally creates a beautiful scene, and the water-filled swell reveals another expression within the glass.
It can be used as a flower vase or an objet d'art.

Handling Precautions

【Glassware Handling Instructions】
Glassware, which beautifully changes its appearance as light passes through it, has long been a familiar material in Japanese life.
By handling it with care, you can enjoy it for many years to come.

【First Use】
Before use, wash once with a mild detergent and a soft sponge.

【Care】
Wash with a soft sponge and mild detergent.
Please be careful when washing thin glasses, as twisting them with force may cause breakage.
After washing, wipe thoroughly with a soft cloth to remove all moisture before storing.

【Storage】
Stacking glassware directly with hard items like ceramics or porcelain may cause scratches.
We recommend storing them with a cloth or other soft material in between.
