Yamaichi's Chinese Steamer
Using Yamaichi's Chinese steamer is simple: just add your ingredients and set the timer.
There's no oil splatter, so you can cook without making a mess in your kitchen.
Plus, the elegant aroma of hinoki cypress and the charming design make it a focal point on your dining table, and the reduced cleanup is a welcome bonus.
Steaming draws out the umami of the ingredients, and since the temperature doesn't exceed 100°C, there's no need to worry about burning.
Furthermore, it cooks healthily without oil and allows you to eat plenty of vegetables, making it perfect for health-conscious individuals.
Excellent durability and quality materials
While many inexpensive Chinese steamers from Taiwan and China have recently entered the market, Yamaichi continues to use domestically produced hinoki cypress and manufactures its steamers by hand, they say.
The hinoki cypress used as material primarily comes from trees over 100 years old.
These are layered four times to create thickness, achieving exceptional durability.
Additionally, the top of the lid features a double layer of woven bamboo lattice, designed to release steam appropriately and prevent water droplets from falling onto the food.
With fine, strong fibers and a thick rim, it boasts excellent strength and is a masterpiece that can be cherished for many years.
Ease of Use
Unlike Chinese steamers made in China, Yamaichi's Chinese steamers do not have claws on the top and bottom of the body, making the body shorter and easier to remove food from at the table.
Additionally, the tall lid allows for fluffy steamed dishes and steaming on plates, expanding your culinary possibilities.
Regarding sizes, 21cm is recommended for families of 2-3 people, 24cm or larger is for families of 3-4 people, and 27cm is recommended when you want to steam a lot at once or when a family needs more space. I personally use the 21cm model.
Before First Use
Don't forget to care for it before use.
Pour water or lukewarm water evenly over the entire steamer and wet it thoroughly before using.
If placed on a pot while dry, it may scorch, so be careful.
Steamed Vegetables
Slow-cooked "steamed dishes" are a cooking method excellent in flavor, nutrition, and ease of use.
They remain delicious even after time, so if you store them, you can easily enjoy them later by just adding seasoning.
Steaming retains more nutrients than boiling and results in a healthier dish than stir-frying.
Homemade Fluffy Shumai
Steaming is also perfect for cooking meat.
Especially, shumai made in a steamer have an irresistible soft fluffiness that a microwave cannot achieve, and are packed with juicy meat.
It also helps to reduce excess fat, making it a healthier option.
Rejuvenate Your Body with the Power of Steam
The simple method of boiling water, adding ingredients, and steaming them provides a small respite for your tired body and mind after returning home.
Sharing the moment when the ingredients appear as soon as the lid is placed is a small luxury unique to using a steamer.
