Keizan Kiln
Keizan Kiln was established in 1957, inheriting the traditions of Arita Town, where Japanese porcelain was first created 400 years ago.
As it was founded with the aim of pursuing the beauty of sometsuke (underglaze blue), the variety of patterns is surprisingly rich, ranging from classical to modern designs.
Each piece is so unique that you'll want to call it a "once-in-a-lifetime encounter," and you'll find yourself wanting to pick up one after another as you browse.
From shaping to painting and firing, all of Keizan Kiln's works are created in-house, with the craftsman's passion poured into every detail of each piece.
Perhaps this is why the ceramics exude a certain gentleness and grace.

4.7-inch Stepped Bowl
It pairs well not only with Japanese cuisine but also with ethnic dishes.
This "4.7-inch stepped bowl" combines a translucent white porcelain body with a deep, serene blue, creating a pure atmosphere that makes the shape even more refreshing.
The blue of the gosu (cobalt pigment) is not uniform; it subtly changes with the brush's intensity, adding expression and depth to the pattern.
Furthermore, when gosu is coated with transparent glaze and fired at high temperatures, it acquires a glass-like luster, and the color appears faintly translucent from beneath the glaze.
This "translucency" creates a mellow effect, like bleeding or blurring, giving the entire vessel a soft impression.
Tableware that invites coolness
Keizan Kiln's tableware is characterized by its clear appearance, created by the blue of the sometsuke and the blank spaces of the white porcelain, which brings a sense of coolness to the eye.
Each time you serve food, the dining table is gracefully arranged, creating a calm atmosphere.
Furthermore, Keizan Kiln's ceramics are less about "storing" and more about "displaying"; the interplay of colors and patterns and the balance between the pieces beautifully organize the shelves.
As my collection of favorite pieces gradually grows, I also greatly appreciate that they are stackable and easy to store.
