Tsuchinao Shikki Rice Bowl
Echizen lacquerware is said to have originated 1500 years ago in the Kawada district of Sabae City.
These rice bowls are made by Tsuchinao Shikki, a company founded in 1962, utilizing the lacquerware production techniques cultivated in this region.
The natural and rich expressions of lacquer and zelkova wood blend well with both Japanese and Western dishes.
With a gently rounded shape, the design evokes a warmth that makes you want to cup it in your hands.

The "kon" (dark blue) color, which changes from a dark tone to blue with age, has a subdued hue that harmonizes with other tableware, enhancing each other's beauty.
While it gives a slightly fresh impression, it surprisingly creates a sense of unity in the space.
The familiar color and soft curves blend seamlessly into modern dining tables, making it suitable for any occasion.
Inheriting tradition and challenging new manufacturing
Tsuchinao Shikki is said to handle all processes except for the base material preparation in-house.
The workshop employs first-class skilled artisans and traditional craftspeople, with specialized artisans each taking on their respective roles while maintaining close communication to advance their work.
This process is said to enhance product completeness and stabilize quality.
By effectively blending the traditional skills of veteran staff with the new ideas and design capabilities of younger staff, they create products that meet contemporary needs.
