涼やかなうつわとともに、夏を迎える

Collection: Welcome summer with cool and refreshing tableware.

As soon as the rainy season ended, the summer sun truly began to show its intensity.
Rather than relying solely on air conditioning, I find myself wanting to feel the change of seasons through cool-looking tableware.

This summer, my dining table has welcomed new additions: tableware crafted in Nagasaki and Saga, respectively.
Though they have entirely different appearances, they share a mysterious presence that somehow evokes a sense of coolness.

Both are works supervised by Shingo Oka, a ceramic artist active in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. The smooth texture of the glaze, the functional and easy-to-use forms, and the soft, antique-like texture seamlessly blend into the dining table. Furthermore, even when using the same clay and glaze, the expression of the ceramics changes dramatically depending on the firing temperature, the characteristics of each kiln, and the individual painting style of the craftsman. Enjoying these differences is one of the joys unique to handmade crafts.

This summer, let's forget the heat and enjoy a relaxing time at home with cool tableware.
