Tsuchinao Shikki's Kumigashi-wan (Nesting Bowls)

Echizen lacquerware, said to have originated 1500 years ago in the Kawada district of Sabae City. The Kumigashi-wan from Tsuchinao Shikki, founded in 1962, utilizes the lacquerware manufacturing techniques cultivated in this region.

The natural and rich expressions of lacquer and zelkova wood blend seamlessly with both Japanese and Western dishes. With its gently rounded shape, the design exudes warmth, making you want to cradle it in your palms.

The "Navy" color, which changes from a dark hue to blue over time, has a calming tone that harmonizes with other tableware, enhancing each other's beauty. While it gives a slightly fresh impression, it creates a surprisingly unified space.

The familiar color and soft curves blend into modern dining settings, making them suitable for any occasion. This size is used as a substitute for soup bowls or rice bowls, or for serving small donburi or side dishes.

Tsuchinao Shikki is said to handle all processes in-house, except for base material creation.
