The smooth, earthy texture that provides a sense of comfort the moment it's touched, the delicate and ephemeral brushwork that seems to come alive, and the innovative expression created by the uniquely blended Raku glaze amidst its rustic charm, all evoke a sense of endearment. The varying layers of material are also a distinctive feature, giving the work a sense of depth.

*The white glaze marks on this piece are intentionally applied and are part of the work's characteristic. These are natural patterns that appear during the final firing process and are not defects or faulty products. Please be aware of this beforehand.
*The texture of the glaze is that of Raku ware, creating a unique translucent texture. This was achieved through repeated trial and error to represent the appearance of frosted window panes and snowy landscapes.
*There may be parts that appear to have peeled off, scratched, or chipped cosmetic clay, but please enjoy these as part of the work's unique character.
*As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in size, shape, and color, and it may differ from the photograph.
*When serving hot food, we recommend soaking the item thoroughly in hot water, and when serving cold food, soaking it thoroughly in cold water before use.

Akari Sato
Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1981
After graduating from university, worked as an assistant to a ceramist.
2013 Graduated from Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center, Advanced Course in Ceramic Science and Art.
Currently working as a ceramist in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture.
