A Special Discovery: My Journey to Finding the Perfect Teapot
It all began with a simple desire: "I want to brew a pot of tea and enjoy a slow, quiet moment."
In the midst of a busy daily life, I found myself longing for that small, intentional luxury.
I started my search, but most of the teapots I found were very traditional—classic, but they didn't quite resonate with my personal style. I was looking for something that felt right for my life today.
That was when I discovered "JINSUI," a pottery studio in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture.
With a history spanning over 100 years, they continue to create designs that fit perfectly into modern living. I was immediately intrigued.
The moment I visited Tokoname and met Mr. Watanabe, the representative of JINSUI, I was captivated. While many teapots carry a heavy, traditional feel, JINSUI’s creations are remarkably simple yet modern.
The soft colors and refined design felt as though they would harmonize naturally with any dining table. I felt an immediate, intuitive connection: "This is the one."
Mr. Watanabe told me, "I want to protect our traditions while creating teapots that suit contemporary lifestyles." I deeply resonated with those words. It was the moment I found exactly what I was looking for—a teapot that is easy to use every day, yet feels truly special.
JINSUI IROIRO 02
The IROIRO 02 has a capacity of 450ml, allowing you to brew about 3 to 4 cups of tea.
It is the perfect size for a relaxing moment at home or for hosting a small tea gathering with friends.
With its generous capacity, you can truly savor your tea to your heart’s content.
The teapot is available in three colors: Beige, Grey, and Black.
Since every color is so versatile and easy to incorporate into a home, it’s hard to choose just one.
I personally use the Beige for the 01 size and the Black for the 02!
Beige is recommended for those who prefer a bright, warm atmosphere. It allows for a casual yet elegant table setting and pairs beautifully with both Japanese and Western cuisine.
Grey is perfect for those who love simple, sophisticated design. For those with a keen eye for modern interiors, this calm hue adds a stylish touch, making your tea time feel even more refined.
Black is ideal for those who prefer a cool, chic impression. It coordinates effortlessly with other tableware and is perfect for creating a sharp, grounded look. It’s an item with a strong presence, not just for tea but for enjoying various beverages.
The "Cera-mesh" Filter: A Dedication to Pure Flavor
JINSUI teapots feature a "Cera-mesh" filter—a fine internal strainer crafted directly from the ceramic body. This allows you to extract every last "Golden Drop" of tea perfectly. Since no metal is used, there is no metallic aftertaste, allowing you to enjoy a remarkably mellow and authentic flavor.
Because a teapot is something used every day, both design and ease of use are essential.
JINSUI teapots masterfully combine both. Beyond the modern and simple aesthetic, each piece allows you to feel the artisan’s skill and Mr. Watanabe’s dedication every time you use it.
I highly recommend pairing it with the matching teacups from the same series.
As they come in a set of two, they would also make a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

A JINSUI teapot is a piece that adds color to daily life and creates a rich, soulful tea time. Whether as a reward for yourself or a gift for someone dear, I hope you find the one that speaks to you.
May your tea time become something truly special.
