Creator / Akari Sato Material / Clay Region / Toki City, Gifu Prefecture
A unique presence with a delicate, gentle softness and a simple yet impactful form.
The smooth, earthy texture that brings a sense of comfort the moment you touch it, the delicate and ephemeral brushwork that seems ready to spring to life, and the novel expression created by a uniquely blended raku glaze amidst its rustic charm, all combine to evoke endearment. The varying layers of material are also distinctive, creating a work that conveys depth.
The ceramic plate is characterized by its easy-to-use size and the exquisite balance of familiarity and luxury unique to ceramics.
The exotic design immediately caught my eye.
For anniversaries, placing whole cakes or baked goods on it could differentiate it from individual plates, making it more versatile.
Beyond food, it can serve as a simple yet quietly striking art piece when used as a small tray for accessories, a stand for single-flower vases, or even hung on a wall.
Its strong practicality is also a welcome feature.

*The white glaze marks on this piece are intentionally applied and are part of the work's characteristic features. These are natural patterns that appear in the final firing process and are not defects or faulty products. Please be aware of this in advance.
*The texture of the glaze is characteristic of raku ware, creating a unique translucent quality. This was achieved through repeated trial and error to express the appearance of frosted windowpanes and snowy landscapes.
*There may be areas that appear to have peeled cosmetic clay, scratches, or chips, but please enjoy these as part of the work's texture and character.
*As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in size, shape, and color, and they may differ from the photographs.
*When serving warm food, we recommend soaking the item thoroughly in warm water, and when serving cold food, in cold water, before use.
