A Vessel You'll Want to Hold Up to the Light
On a day when the morning sun sparkles into the living room,
it's time for the Sansa Bowl from Kimura Glassware.
Even while preparing breakfast, I can't help but pick it up and hold it up to the light.
Countless tiny bubbles floating within the glass catch the light, twinkling like stardust.
The faintly bluish-gray hue brings a tranquility not found in clear glass, offering a moment of pause in a busy morning.
Many people probably imagine crystal-clear transparency when they think of glass vessels.
However, when you hold this Sansa Bowl, you'll see a different kind of beauty, one that is distinct from simple transparency.
Drawn to the Story
When you hear "Kimura Glassware," the first thing that comes to mind is probably a clear, transparent glass.
Its simple beauty has been loved by many for a long time.
The thinly crafted glass feels surprisingly light in your hand, and its delicate nature is another one of its charms.
"Someday, I want to try colored glass."
Kimura Glassware had held this thought for many years, and then one day they heard that Fukagawa Glass Craft in Otaru was making products from blue-gray recycled glass.
The recycled glass, made from automobile smoked glass, has a calm, bluish hue and contains fine bubbles inherent to the material.
Drawn by its unique appearance, Kimura Glassware approached them, expressing their desire to create products using this material, and thus, development began.
This is how the Sansa Bowl was born.
The blue-gray glass, when illuminated, appears sometimes soft, sometimes deep.
The subtle variations in its color gently bring a fleeting beauty.
The more I learn about this story, the more enchanted I become with the Sansa Bowl.
Since the color of smoked glass varies by car, the shade changes slightly with each production lot, and no two bubble patterns are alike.
It will be a pleasant surprise to discover what kind of expression the one you receive will have.
Three Sizes to Complement Your Table
The Sansa Bowl comes in three sizes.
The smallest, 391s, is the perfect size for serving yogurt or ice cream. It fits comfortably in the hand, and you feel its lightness every time you pick it up.
Even your everyday yogurt feels a bit special when served in this bowl.
The medium-sized 473USs is also lovely for fruit.
The sparkle of fresh fruit combined with the shimmer of bubbles in the Sansa Bowl adds a subtle touch of elegance to your table.
And the large 568UKs is just right for serving salads.
Even on a busy morning, a quickly prepared dish instantly becomes the centerpiece of the table, and the unique transparency of the glass further enhances the colors of the vegetables.
The three sizes nest neatly within each other, saving space when stored.
Their stacked appearance is also beautiful, bringing a sense of comfort even when putting them away.
All sizes are easy to use, making them vessels you'll want to collect all three of.
Elegantly Enhancing the Dining Table
For breakfast today, I served salad and yogurt in the Sansa Bowls.
Even with familiar ingredients, the space somehow appeared wonderfully clear.
The blue-gray glass, adorned with bubbles, quietly enhances any dish.
Next time, I want to try pouring drinks into them.
Imagining the different ways light and ripples will spread compared to a clear glass makes me even more eager for their next use.
