"Kasen Kiln" is a renowned kiln of Mikawachi ware, located in Mikawachi-cho, Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years.
This piece was created under the supervision of Shingo Oka, a ceramist active in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture.
The moment I picked it up, I was surprised by its lightness, as if I was scooping air.
The smooth glaze, functional and easy-to-use form, and soft, antique-like texture blend seamlessly into any dining setting.
