Gifts to give to someone going on a journey

Soft Light and the Footsteps of Spring

It's March, and the light streaming through the window feels like it's gently softening and unwinding.
The weeping cherry tree visible from our house window has unexpectedly developed many buds, and watching them swell day by day has been a small recent pleasure.

While it's a season when such subtle changes make my heart dance, this time of year often brings farewells.
Long-time colleagues and friends are moving to distant cities.
Suppressing my sadness, I want to give a special gift to these important people embarking on new beginnings, a gift filled with heartfelt encouragement.
Such feelings naturally well up inside me.

Imagining the future lives of my colleagues, I carefully selected their gifts.

Glasses to Enjoy the Light, for a New Beginning

For my senior colleague who enjoys spending time at home, glasses seem like a good choice.

In the midst of stimulating daily life, there must be times when one wants to take a breather.
At such moments, I believe that having an exceptional glass by their side will surely enrich and soothe their soul.

The biggest appeal of Daisuke Kikuchi's glasses is their soft, pale pink shimmer.
They catch the light from the window, casting a water-like shadow on the table. This scene is endlessly captivating to behold.

Kimura Glass's glasses, beloved by culinary professionals for many years, are also excellent.
The " Lotus" with its striking linear form, gracefully accommodates any beverage, be it wine, iced coffee, tea, or water.

I chose the adorable pear-shaped " Pair" for my stylish senior colleague.
Its short stem makes it easy for everyday use, and simply pouring carbonated water or beer into it creates a slightly different atmosphere. It's a versatile yet distinctive glass that can even be enjoyed with parfaits.

It's a moment of selecting, imagining whether this shape would suit that person.
Though goodbyes are sad, imagining them embracing their new life naturally brings warmth to my heart.

Gifting Scent and Texture

For business acquaintances I've worked with, I'm giving a set of hand soap and a hand towel. It's a practical combination that elevates daily life: Kibn's hand soap paired with Kontex's waffle towel.

I love Kibn's natural scent, and it's an item I often choose as a gift. The subtle citrus aroma, intertwined with trees and herbs, is often well-received by both men and women.

I paired it with Kontex's waffle hand towel.
Its large, uneven texture gently fits the hand, and it becomes softer and fluffier with each use – it's my favorite towel.

Everyday handwashing transforms into a moment where you feel like taking a deep breath.
I hope it can be a way to relax, even in a new environment.

A Single Flower, in the Scenery of Life

For a close friend, I decided to give Kazuya Niimi's vase.

A newly moved-in room, even after the boxes are unpacked, can feel somewhat unfamiliar and unsettling.
To alleviate some of the tension in that unfamiliar space, I plan to give her a single dried flower, which she loves, arranged in the vase.

Even amidst the busy new routine, I hope that the moment her eyes meet the flower, any strained feelings will gently unwind. I would be happy if it becomes a quiet companion in a corner of her new room, watching over her daily life.

While Wrapping Gifts

Time spent carefully wrapping each gift, reminiscing about the memories I share with them.
I hope that when they feel a little tired in their unfamiliar new environment, these items can be a chance for them to take a breath.

A night taking a break with a glass.
The comfort of washing hands.
Leisurely time gazing at a single flower.

I would be happy if such small moments emerge in their new lives.

Not goodbye, but until we meet again.
With the wish, "May you be yourself in your new home too."
